Co-Founders
Emily Brown and Lindsay Fernandez co-founded Above Social with one simple concept in mind, we wanted to help small business owners succeed in their desires to build something important.
We truly believe that the action of helping local businesses succeed causes a direct effect on how different sized communities can better our world! We’ve seen first hand start-up businesses transform into community bonding, revenue generating, success stories. We understand the struggles and challenges that go into starting a small business, and unfortunately the world doesn’t slow down for such mishaps.
Above Social is dedicated to helping small businesses grow and evolve through the power of social media. Our company will help educate our clients in understanding the power and reach that social media marketing can create for their business, and in return earning growth, profit and community empowerment.
Gabrielle Carlson

My name is Gabrielle! I graduated from Saranac Central School in 2015. I am a licensed cosmetologist. Full Time mom of two amazing little boys! My husband Jim and I are native to the Adirondacks. He and I, along with our boys Gatlin and Gunner, currently reside in Au Sable Forks, NY on our quaint little slice of heaven. We have two dogs, a cat and a few farm animals! We love hunting, all things outdoors and spending time at home together! I am also a local singer/songwriter. I perform in various locations with my band Movin’ On. I have been singing since i was very young which lead to being a burning passion of mine. I am so excited to be a small part of what these two amazing ladies have started. Although their business has already flourished, I can’t wait to help them thrive!
Sydney Schmidt

Sydney Schmidt is a freelance graphic designer from Saranac Lake, New York. She has worked with local businesses around her. Sydney has created logo designs, paid advertisements, and business one pagers, just to name a few. She has always loved being creative and working on something new for a client. In her free time, Sydney enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Zach and their two dogs, Honey and Zoe. They love to watch movies and TV shows together.
Camie Volpe

I am a marketing student working towards my bachelor's degree, deeply passionate about the creative aspects of marketing and eager to pursue it as a lifelong career. I currently live in Queensbury with my boyfriend and our fur baby, Kodak. I enjoy going hiking and going on water adventures with them. We also just started to love going kayaking. In my free time, I love getting lost in books or watching Gilmore Girls on repeat. I am so thankful to have this wonderful opportunity to intern with such amazing women.

Hi! Im Hailey Muscarella and I am so excited to be joining Above Social as an independent contractor! I am from Buffalo, New York and currently reside here. I recently graduated from Niagara University with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Social Media and Digital Marketing. I have a passion for content creation and thinking creatively! I am deeply connected to both the Adirondacks and Buffalo region, so I am so thrilled to be working with businesses local and far. On a day off you can find me reading a good book, hiking or going to get coffee from a local coffee shop! I’m excited to be apart of Above Social, and Go Bills!
